Halo, Selam, Merhaba
I am an Oakland, CA based Eritrean American Urbanist and Conceptual Artist working to honor and better the lives of people and places that have built and nurtured me. I work with my many communities here in the Bay Area and abroad. My work is grounded in a Black Feminist Epistemology and a commitment to radical self love. Research topics of mine include Eritrean diaspora ethnography + futurism, cradle to career initiatives, racial health equity, and circular economies. I am currently a Master in City Planning Candidate at UC Berkeley and looking forward to graduating in the Spring of 2020. When I am not studying I can be found at Lake Merritt, drinking boon (coffee), and dreaming with my haftetat (sisters) + Friends.
